The Russian Mountain Bike Championship and Cup were held in the Chelyabinsk Region from 11 to 27 September. Format Udmurtia team took part in all stages and achieved good results.
The coach of Format Udmurtia team, Vladimir A. Belokrylov, will tell us more about the level of tracks, competing and training of cyclists.
“The Chelyabinsk Region met us with a high European level of arrangement. High level, challenging and interesting tracks. Challenging terrain: sharp stones, mud, and elevation changes. I constantly had to think about tactics, the tracks did not give any room for error. Technical fallings out were frequent at the Cup.
The goal for the Cup was to stay in the top five, and to fight for medals. The championship was held as planed, surely, by the guys got tired a bit by the end of the training camp. A part of the team went to the base to prepare for the coming cyclocross competition. We will defend the honour of the region, and the competition will be held in the Udmurt Republic soon”.
